Knedlík was found on 17 January 2026 in Řendějov (Kutná Hora district). Although we hoped someone would come forward, nobody ever claimed him. His story turned out to be more tangled than expected, and in the end he was placed in our care, where he's now waiting for a new home.

We don't know his exact age, but Knedlík is clearly a canine senior — around 10 years old. He looks rather like a Labrador: a likeable, round easy-goer. He loves food, and because he enjoys it so much, his meals need close supervision. His new owner will gain not only a loyal companion but also the role of a kind nutrition coach, so that Knedlík doesn't turn into a double dumpling (his name means 'dumpling' in Czech).

Knedlík is a calm, quiet, sweet and house-trained dog. He enjoys walks, mostly ignores other dogs and walks nicely on the lead. Of all the commands he knows 'sit' — and honestly, for a contented senior life that's plenty. Handling and routine care are no problem. He can even ignore cats without wasting any energy on them.

He'll be happiest in a house with a garden and indoor access, ideally without stairs. He seems suitable for older, sensible children, or for seniors. The only thing to watch out for is slippery floors — they're hard on his senior legs and back when getting up.

We don't yet know how he feels about cats and poultry. He can find holes in fences and has a fair idea of how doors might be opened — worth keeping an eye on.

In short, Knedlík is an undemanding, grateful companion looking for a calm home and someone who'll appreciate his kind, easy-going nature.
