Our team

Dogpoint (officially defined as a public benefit organization) is a group of passionate professionals who understand dogs in need and know how to take proper care of them. They have been caring for abandoned and abused dogs since 2011, and after years of gathering experience they decided to build a shelter in Lhotky near Malotice. The dogs are looked after by a team with deep experience in dog handling and veterinary care.

Who you'll meet at the shelter

Bc.Michaela Zemánková
director of the organization

The boss lady. She has everything under control, she's the engine of the whole team — and she still manages to look after her family and her own dogs. She's a maximalist and a workaholic with high standards, so she occasionally gets on everyone's nerves.

Kateřina Štěpařová
caretaker

Katka is not only a caretaker — she's also active in dog sports. She's an experienced trainer, open to all training methods, focusing mainly on obedience and preparing dogs for exams. She has been at the shelter since 2020 and owns five dogs herself.

Bc. Vojtěch Polák
caretaker

Vojta first came to the shelter as a student intern. A year later, in spring 2022, he came back entirely of his own accord — as a caretaker. When he's not with us, you'll find him at university, studying for a master's degree in companion animal breeding, or volunteering at canine therapy sessions. In his free time he trains his dogs in obedience, dog sports, herding and the occasional canicross.

Jan Jurák
shelter manager, caretaker

Honza takes care of everything around the dogs and the shelter grounds. His job is to make sure the shelter and the care of the dogs stay at the highest possible level. He also covers the round-the-clock dog rescue line and is the brains behind the shelter's technical facilities.

Kateřina Füllsacková
caretaker

Káťa is an experienced caretaker and has been with us since 2020. She's currently also studying veterinary assistance and keeps educating herself about dog nutrition. She does canicross and has a European sled dog at home.

Ivana Zelenková
caretaker

Ivča joined the team in 2022 with a strong drive to work with dogs and to learn. Today we can safely say she's one of our experienced caretakers. She's easy to spot — she's the kindest member of our team.

Karolína Kopcová
caretaker

Kája is not only a dog caretaker but also a photographer, and she's been at the shelter since 2020. She owns two dogs — a Beauceron and a Border Collie. In her free time she focuses on professional dog photography. Most of the current photos of our shelter dogs are her work.

Lucie Šimáňová
caretaker

We've known Lucka for many years, but she joined our caretaking team at the end of 2023. Lucka does mushing sports with her dogs, and in 2024 she won the world championship title for Belgian Shepherds in bikejoring. We love teasing her that she has more dogs at home than we have at the shelter.

Ing. Alena Balcarová
e-shop, dog trainer

Alča is not only a great dog trainer — she'll also pack your orders to perfection and will generally take good care of you if you decide to support Dogpoint by shopping in our charity shop.

Kristýna Šestáková
copywriter

Týna found her way to the shelter by adopting one of our dogs, and now she's the one who works her magic on most of our texts and gives them a proper polish.

Ing. Kristýna Oliberiusová
accountant

Kristýna is a precise and meticulous accountant. She makes sure the books balance down to the last penny.

Sabina Kalinová
donor care

Sabina started at the shelter in 2017 as an intern from a veterinary high school. Today she's the one in charge of front-line donor care.

JUDr. Jitka Oliberiusová
legal consultant

Jitka is a member of the supervisory board. She runs her own law practice, specializes in criminal law, and has been working with us for years on animal abuse cases.

Irena Vanišová
documentary photographer

Irča joined our team back in 2011. She actively documents not only our shelter events — she also documents the veterinary treatment of the shelter's dogs. She also makes the best tug toys for our e-shop.

Martin Hauge
member and IT consultant

Martin is our indispensable webmaster and IT consultant. He also likes to be hands-on with the dogs at the shelter, especially when he gets to chat with women other than our director, who pesters him about every little thing. He's the oldest member of the team, so he's usually right about everything.

The veterinarians who care for our dogs

MVDr. Daniel Tomala

Dr. Tomala has been caring for our dogs since 2016. Since opening his own practice he has been our go-to orthopedist and surgeon — we bring him the special and tricky cases because we know our dogs are in the best hands with him.

MVDr. Veronika
Feiferová

Dr. Feiferová is our first-line veterinarian, handling all kinds of health problems and acute cases. What we appreciate most is that she never turns away our urgent cases and is always ready to help.
